Award-winning Author Marybeth Lorbiecki, M.A., energizes audiences with her passion for her subjects ... and for the audience themselves. She believes in them, and in our power to change the world and ourselves, through seeing the connections imbedded in ecology, economy, society, and spirituality (especially Catholic spirituality and teachings). She particularly believes in youth, knowing they are our future, so she has written and spoken to them for twenty years, creating dynamic books that engage their minds and hearts.

Her areas of expertise lay in four significant areas:
  • Christianity and Ecology -- she has studied the Bible in this regard and the teachings of St. John Paul II and Pope Francis, as well as other Christian leaders. The Pontifical Council of Justice and Peace has consulted her. Fossil fuel divestment in the name of faith is one tool in stepping up to our shared call.
  • Ocean Issues and the Call of Faith -- she is the director of the Interfaith Ocean Ethics Campaign (IOEC): a multi-faith effort to protect and restore ocean systems and species, especially for the coastal poor ravaged by ocean devastation and the future. The IOEC is based on shared principles across the faiths.
  • Aldo Leopold and His Legacy -- Her award-winning biography of this pioneering ecologist, writer, and land ethicist is now being released as new edition that covers his wide-ranging and transformative legacy, which is becoming more intensely revelant each day as we are facing climatic chaos, unprecendented species loss in the human era, and mounting pollution undermining animal and human food chains.
  • Children's Books and Writing Workshops  -- she reads her many different books and tells stories about the writing of them. Her latest, The Prairie that Nature Built has garnered acclaim from reviewers and bloggers, and especially kids. Lorbiecki visits schools to engage youth in the delights of reading, writing, and the very great outdoors!
